Quick little bit of info for mommies and mommies to be. As the arrival of our son approaches, my husband and I have been stocking up on all of the essentials and that, of course, includes diapers. After some solid recommendations, we decided to start out with Pampers and Makers Mark (Sams brand). We headed to Sams (after looking in Target) figuring that, since it's Sams, they should have the best deals. Once I looked at those $45.00 price tags I just couldn't do it. I wanted to make absolutely sure this was the best deal. TO GOOGLE! After a quick search I found that I could buy 216 pampers swaddlers (the economy pack not sold in stores) in size one for only $25.99 from Target.com. The same exact product was being sold for $43.58 at Sams (online). Not only was it less expensive at Target, you could also subscribe to have them automatically delivered every month and receive a 5% discount because of your subscription. Needless to say we high tailed it (maybe more like str

What they don't tell you about pregnancy Part I

Image
Hello All! I am in my third trimester of pregnancy and it's been quite a ride! There's so much that I want to share with you! Today, however, I want to share the huge surprises that I've had for the past 7 months! Now, I'm not new to the whole baby thing. I am the oldest of six and I have also worked with children off and on my entire life. On top of that, once I became pregnant, I started reading articles and speaking with women who already have children just so I could have some idea of what to expect. So, it's not like I was going in completely blind, but I still managed to deal with a few things that my husband and I weren't prepared for. **Disclaimer: No two pregnancies are alike! What I have dealt with could be the opposite for you!** 1. Weight Loss!      So, my before pregnancy weight was around 155 lbs. At my first appointment I hadn't gained any weight and by my January appointment I had actually lost 2 pounds. My next appointment

My Fairytale Wedding

Image
My wedding was everything I could have ever wanted and more! We planned, paid for, and put together our entire wedding in five months with the help of a few family and friends and it turned out great. No, I didn't have a rush marriage because I was pregnant lol (I actually got pregnant 2 weeks after! But that's for another post.) my husband and I decided that if we knew that's what we wanted to do, why not just go ahead and do it? And it was the best decision I've ever made. I don't know how other brides stress for a year or more! The five months was enough for me. In my mind, as long as I said"I do" and he did too that was all that mattered. Everything else was extra. More pictures and posts coming soon! I have a ton of money saving tips for any bride to be, as well as some surprising things I encountered while planning my wedding. Until next time!! XOXO

Inauguration 2017. Pay Attention!

It is imperative that EVERYONE be aware of what is happening in government, especially during such a controversial election. I have seen and heard a lot of people saying that they are "just going act like nothing is happening" today, or that they stopped paying attention the same day they found out the results of the election back in November. I've also come across many people that opted not to vote or concern themselves with political matters once the presidential candidates were announced, because it was just "the lesser of two evils."  This is an extremely dangerous and ignorant (if not down right stupid) way of thinking. Do not fall into that trap and PLEASE do not drag your children down with you. This is especially important for minorities as well as their children. It is well within your rights as a citizen of the United States to disagree with whomever is in office, however, if you're not aware of everything that is going on how are you going to c
